It seems like forever ago that we published our tentative plans to reopen on April 27. Following that notice, we learned that gyms would not be able to open during the safer-at-home guidelines. We then put those plans on pause, awaiting additional guidelines from Governor Polis and Jefferson County.
CrossFit Undeniable has been closed for going on 12 weeks. We’re incredibly grateful to our amazing members that have supported us thus far even with our doors closed. We’ve been anxiously waiting and advocating for guidance specific to boutique gym like ours because we feel we can resume business operation in a safe manner.
Yesterday, Governor Polis announced that the safer-at-home guidance would be extended to July 1 in Colorado. However, draft guidance has been put forth that would allow gyms to have up to 10 people per room indoors. We should know whether that guidance is finalized by Thursday, June 4. Regardless, we’re planning to reopen on Wednesday, June 10.
Please see the full details of our plan below. We’re excited to get everyone back in the gym!
Our Plan for Re-opening
Below is our plan for reopening. It differs slightly depending on whether or not the guidance for groups of 10 indoors is finalized on Thursday, June 4.
Option A: Groups of 10 Guidance Finalized
Assuming the draft guidance currently put forth is finalized, we’ll reopen on Wednesday, June 10 running 45-minute classes with class caps of 8 on the following schedule:
We’ll run 45-minute classes on Saturday at 8AM, 9AM, and 10AM.
The indoor capacity will be 8 athletes plus a coach. During each class, members will have access to a dedicated set of equipment to complete the workout in a specified area. The workout areas will be spaced at least six feet apart.
Option B: Guidance Remains Groups of 4
Currently, the guidance allows for groups of 3 plus a coach indoors at any given time. If the new guidance does not pass, we’ll still continue with our re-opening plan. However, we’ll split into smaller groups of 3-4 in each side of our facility and run two classes simultaneously. The doorways will be completely blocked off so they’ll function as entirely separate rooms.
The class schedule and other items from above would remain the same.
Returning Borrowed Equipment
We’ll be asking members to return all equipment on Saturday or Sunday (June 6 and 7) from 12PM-3PM each day.
If you have supplies, please wipe down your equipment before bringing it in. Either way, we’ll be wiping it down once you bring it back!
All equipment needs to be returned. If you can’t make any of the drop-off times this weekend, you’ll need to email firstname.lastname@example.org to set up a separate time.
We recognize that even though we’re re-opening, not everyone will feel comfortable venturing out in public yet or be able to attend classes for various reasons.
We’ll continue to offer at-home programming every day through Triib and YouTube. Since we’ll be asking all equipment to be returned, these workouts will not require any equipment.
We’ll know whether the new guidance is accepted by Friday, June 5 at the latest. We’ll make a final call regarding the options above at that time. Either way, we’re asking members to return all equipment this weekend and get psyched to come join us in-person again on Wednesday, June 10!
Will things look a little different than normal? Definitely! We’ll learn a lot as we begin to see how this works in practice. However, we’re excited to get back to training while still staying safe.
